Ana was born in Medellin, Colombia and faced financial hardship growing up after her family went bankrupt. They struggled with basic needs and education expenses, leading them to move to the United States for a fresh start. After finishing her 6th semester of Journalism it was difficult for Ana to secure a job so her family decided to leave everything and make the move to Boston. After three challenging months, she began studying English at Bunker Hill Community College and supported herself without financial aid, completing ESL courses despite the economic difficulties caused by the pandemic. Facing financial struggles and academic challenges, Ana withdrew from college to focus on improving her English. She later joined El Centro, where she successfully completed ENG 111 and ENG 112. With the support of a First Literacy scholarship, Ana looks forward to pursuing a college degree at Bunker Hill Community College and advancing her career.
