First Literacy Scholar: Anny

Anny First Literacy Scholar Headshot

Anny lost her mother to cancer when she was just 13 years old. Growing up with her father and three brothers she learned to be strong, grateful, and happy. In her home country she worked hard to achieve her professional goals. Now living in the U.S. she is determined to learn English and become a teacher. While she knows there will be challenges that will come with attending college in the U.S. she hopes that furthering her education will allow her to expand her opportunities for professional work and make a larger impact on the people living in her community. She is currently working towards her Associate in Arts Degree in Global Languages at Bunker Hill Community College. Her dream is to obtain a PHD in education.
