As a 20-year old graduate in Uganda with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Hajarah was gaining the confidence to make decisions for herself rather than for others as she had done in the past. The choices she made to live a better life for herself resulted in her family turning their backs on her and making her life challenging and full of fear. Moving to the U.S. brought her safety and opportunities to fuel her passion for learning and will allow her to fulfill her dream of saving the lives of others through work in the medical field. Hajarah is already a Certified Nursing Assistant and working two jobs in the medical field. Hajarah is currently taking classes at Mount Wachusett Community College. Her goals are to become a nutritionist, public health officer, and a registered dietitian in order to support her community.
