Nicole was a journalist in her home country of Haiti for 20 years. She was forced to leave Haiti because of volatile political situations bearing abuse, kidnapping and murder targeting journalists. Coming to the United States with her young daughter was not easy as Nicole did not have a job, money, or any close family in the U.S. While she’s faced many challenges along the way her positive attitude keeps her going. Nicole is now pursuing psychology as a new career path. Her dream is to become a psychologist and help people find support and strength to overcoming challenges.
