First Literacy Scholar: Priscilla

Priscilla finished middle school in Hong Kong before emigrating to the United States in 1980. When she arrived in the U.S. she went right to work at a restaurant and then moved on to work at a local bank where for 13 years she worked in customer service and billing. Colleagues advanced to better positions, but due to her lack of education she did not. While still working in a busy finance department she decided to take classes at Jewish Vocational Services Bridges to College. After a lot of hard work Priscilla passed her HiSET exam and was admitted at Bunker Hill Community College. Priscilla is excited to immerse herself this fall in the Health Information Technology courses that will lead to a degree in information technology.
