Zhongwei is from China and the first in his family to attend college. When he arrived in the U.S. he faced a severe illness that depleted his savings and forced him to put his education on hold.
After recovering from his illness, he started working at a local restaurant and saved every penny to enroll at Bunker Hill Community College and study data analytics. Diligently studying and maintaining a 4.0 GPA, he strives for excellence in both education and his future career.
Zhongwei’s ambition is to utilize data science to improve healthcare systems and positively impact people’s lives. Grateful for the opportunity provided by First Literacy, he knows this scholarship will be the driving force behind his academic journey.
