In school in the Dominican Republic, Andres had initially struggled in English classes until he was drawn in by a Twenty One Pilots song that he connected to and wanted to be able to understand. He began to utilize language learning apps like Duolingo and started translating song lyrics. Soon he was excelling in his English class and his English vocabulary improved. In 2019, Andres moved to the United States. He was grateful for all his hard work studying and practicing English, as being bilingual made adapting to a new country much easier. With the support of a First Literacy scholarship Andres is now taking classes at Bunker Hill Community College. His dream is to become a professional in coding and web design.
