Priscilla is a devoted mother to a 14-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son. Originally from Brazil, she studied Human Resources before relocating to the United States. Since moving, her experiences have sparked a deep passion for community work. Her dream is to earn a degree in a field that allows her to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. In addition to being a mother of two, she works at a nonprofit organization that supports families in need. Balancing this commitment with motherhood has not been easy. Each morning, she rises early to take her son to daycare before commuting by train and bus to her job. Despite the challenges, Priscilla is determined to reach her goals. The scholarship from First Literacy will help Priscilla continue to pursue a degree in Human Services through the online program at Urban College of Boston.
