From humble beginnings in Bangladesh, Shermin nurtured her love for art and learning amidst challenges. Marriage and motherhood brought many struggles, but her determination remained unshaken. Her studies were put on hold when her daughter was born, and distance tested her spirit when her husband sought opportunity in America while she remained in Bangladesh. Eventually Shermin and her daughters joined her husband in the U.S. In her new homeland, she faced isolation and regret, but her devotion to education ignited a spark within her.
Over a decade later, she embraced a fresh start through the Jewish Vocational Services Bridge to College program. With the First Literacy scholarship Shermin plans to attend Quincy College and pursue a career in the health field.
