This introductory course in pronouncing General American English (GenAm) will help educators provide instruction for students who want to acquire GenAm speech patterns. Material focuses on a subset of GenAm phonology including “Problem Pairs”, vowels and consonants that are similar and often present as accented to native General American English speakers. Material includes techniques for practicing these phonemes with students, and tips for explaining sound articulation.
