First Literacy scholarship winners celebrated at Faneuil Hall
On August 18 Boston Mayor Michelle Wu hosted the 2022 First Literacy Scholarship Ceremony at the Great Hall in Boston. The ceremony celebrated the 33 adult learners who were awarded First Literacy Scholarships for the 2022-2023 school year.
First Literacy Appoints New Chairman of the Board
First Literacy is pleased to announce Jim Nolan, previously First Literacy‘s Vice President of the Board has been appointed as new Chairman of the Board. Effective July 1, Nolan succeeds Jeff Beale, who recently stepped down after serving as Chairman for the past fourteen years.

I first heard of the Boston Adult Literacy Fund, (BALF) and now First Literacy, when the CEO of Eaton Vance Corp., M. Dozier Gardner, handed me a file as he was retiring in 1993.
